Navionics has pledged to donate $1 for every mile of sonar logs uploaded during this event, up to $5,000, to the fund. In cooperation with the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, West Marine, and other businesses, Navionics has organized the Sandy Project to remap the coastline and raise funds for the Hurricane Sandy Recovery & Relief Fund. The Sandy Project is a three-day sonar logging event focused along the New Jersey coastline which was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. Navionics and The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey are re-writing the books, or shall I say nautical charts, and you are helping them.
After Hurricane Sandy I got more email talking about how the back bays would be changed and how difficult it would be to navigate in them.
